Welcome to the Bracewell document archive
A revolutionary approach to genealogy research
The purpose of this archive is to help Bracewell surname researchers share their genealogy research. This will be achieved by allowing each member of the site to control their own research. Each member can upload documents, post comments on existing documents, post research notes, and communicate with other members via their own surname forum.
The site is managed by a powerful software system that controls all the users and content. No previous website experience is necessary. Everything is point and click. Content is added by using a included editor.
The site is divided into three main sections.
- The Document Archive
- Research Notes
- Research Forum
The Document Archive is a collection of original genealogy documents. The archive is divided into Bracewell and Braswell surnames. This is done to try and eliminate confusion caused by similar given names, and to allow individual moderator who is better familiar with their surname to admin the documents. Each member has the ability to upload their documents by several easy to use web based interfaces.
Research Notes section is information that is obtained wile conducting research on your surname. This information may have been collected from a library, online database, or transcription.
This section is provided for all users to post information that may contain unproven research. This section also has the ability for each member to post their working family tree. This information can then be used to ask for assistance from other users to prove/disprove a connection.
The Research Forum is a public forum for surname conversation. Here you can post information and ask the community for assistance. The forum is much like a genealogy email list except you can link to research notes and original documents to source your research.
In addition to the above sections additional features will added and continually updated. Some of the planned additions include:
Website Links: This will allow each member to add links to research sites across the Internet. This works similarly to bookmarks or favorites in your Internet browser.
Chat: This will allow members to text messages back and forth with other researchers in real time. This may be useful if one member is in a library conducting research and wishes to share information in real time.
Conference Calls: As research becomes better organized the ability to hold conference calls to give members the ability to speak with other researchers in real time. This may become an important tool for continued research growth. Planed events may include weekly, or monthly conferences with all members who wish to participate.
